Youngsters With Particular Wants Take pleasure in Quiet Time With ‘Sensory Santa’

As Christmas approaches quickly, Santa Claus will be visiting malls across the country to meet the good guys and girls.

While this experience is exciting for most children, it can be very overwhelming and nerve-wracking for children with special needs or people with sensory issues.

La Palmera Mall in Corpus Christi, Texas came up with a brilliant way to enable these kids to meet Santa without worrying about crowds, loud music, or overstimulation.

During the Christmas season, the entire mall is closed, so the children can take photos in a quiet environment with fewer people. Meetings are only possible by prior reservation, which also gives those with developmental or physical difficulties additional time to visit Santa Claus.

One family had even traveled almost three hours from Laredo so that their two sons could enjoy this special time with Santa Claus.

They hope more places will follow suit and have quiet events with Santa so that children with special needs can also meet him.

If you live in the area, there will be two more Sensory Santa events at La Palmera Mall on December 5th and 12th from 9am to 11am.
