WILLIAMSBURG – From autumn this year, the School of Education will expand its 100 percent online offering with several new programs. An online Master of Arts in Education enables practicing teachers to expand their knowledge and skills in one of three specializations: Grade K-6 Special Education, Grades 6-12 Special Education or ESL and Bilingual Education.
In addition, certificate programs are offered in the same three subject areas, allowing teachers to better serve students with different needs and receive possible validation in additional areas of instruction.
“We are very excited to expand our online program to include teacher education,” said Rob Knoeppel, Dean of the School of Education. “We carefully designed these programs to help professionals acquire key skills and credentials that will enable them to advance their careers and meet some of the most pressing needs of our K-12 schools.”
