Vacation Bazaar at EHS designed to assist particular wants school rooms | Training

A new holiday bazaar and craft fair will take over the community area of Elizabethtown High School on Saturday to raise funds for special needs classrooms.

Admission to the event, which takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., is free

Emily Ede, special education teacher at Panther Academy, said the new event was supposed to take place last year but has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Event providers’ money will be used for community-based training. This includes field trips, money learning, working on functional skills, and other aspects throughout the district.

“Funding is always an issue,” she says.

The money made from the items sold by the sellers is withheld by them. Donations for low-incidence classes may also be made at the event.

Ede said 20 vendors were registered – more than the 10 to 12 originals expected by the organizers. These vendors include crafts, shirts, mugs, Christmas decorations, ornaments, a food truck, and other items from local vendors.

Santa Claus is supposed to appear at the event and families can take pictures with him.

Ede hopes this first-time event, like similar benefits during the holiday season, can become an annual tradition.
