Take part in Seramount x NYCEDC’s Childcare Research
Are you wrestling with the best options to support your employees with childcare, especially in these turbulent times? As businesses of all sizes with offices in the NYC area seek to recruit and retain their employees, childcare has become an important issue.
Seramount (formerly Working Mother Media) partners with the New York City Economic Development Corporation’s (NYCEDC) Childcare Innovation Lab to conduct groundbreaking research on childcare – what is currently on offer and what organizations, even smaller ones, should do to keep costs manageable while helping employees who are working parents. Our plan is to identify actionable next steps that the NYC government and corporations can take to improve and expand childcare and flexible work opportunities for their employees. You can find more information about our organizations and our role in childcare at the end of this email.
We’d love your contribution to understanding how decisions are made about childcare offers and programs for your company’s employees, what has worked for your company, what challenges you are now facing, and how COVID-19 and plans are for those Returning to work looks like an impact on your childcare services. The only requirement is that you have at least 50 full-time employees in NYC.
What would your participation be? We ask that you allow around 45-60 minutes to interview you and complete a short online survey. We can make the interview anonymous or quote your organization or quote you directly – your choice. To show our appreciation for your participation in this study, we will share our results and try to identify opportunities for you to better serve your employees.
To enter, please email jamie.phillips@seramount.com and we will work to find a time that best fits your schedule. If you would like another person from your organization to be present during the interview, we would be happy to participate.
Thank you in advance for your participation.
Seramount, formerly Working Mother Media, is a media and consulting company with 35 years of experience collecting and analyzing best practices in collecting and analyzing trends in childcare, parental leave, family-friendly benefits and diversity, equity and inclusion.
The NYCEDC Childcare Innovation Lab was recently launched as part of women.NYC to ensure that NYC remains the best place in the world for women of all backgrounds, ages, skills and identities to thrive in their careers of running businesses and founding start-ups. The Childcare Innovation Lab seeks to redefine access to childcare as a central theme of economic development rather than a private family affair by leading research into the impact of childcare on the NYC economy and families; and working with NYC employers and other government agencies to catalyze public-private collaboration and innovation that can expand accessible, affordable, and quality childcare solutions and support working women and families. If you have any questions or would like to get involved in the wider initiative, please email childcarelab@edc.nyc.
