SWFL Music Schooling Middle unveils program for college kids with particular wants
NAPLES, Florida – “It will give my daughter and other students who are studying differently the opportunity to have a really good music education, a chance for a job, but with the support and that is the vital support we are going to provide “Chairman and President of the Southwest Florida Music Education Center, said Rob Moher.
Moher said his 19-year-old daughter Amaya Moher motivated him to start the organization called the Southwest Florida Music Education Center.
Moher said he wanted to help students with special needs indulge their passion for music.
“When you look at my daughter’s education, it was clear that sending her to university or college and being in a class of 200 students would not suit her learning needs or style,” said Moher.
The program is aimed at young adults with autism and other learning disabilities.
Students can choose between a two- or four-year certificate program. Enrollment is now possible for the autumn semester 2022.
Jennifer Clark of the Southwest Florida Music Education Center said students must be between 18 and 30 years of age to enroll in the program.
“We are looking for students who have musical experience and who have already mastered an instrument, who have proven their skills and who want to develop further. beyond that to grow, “said Clark.
“Pursuing their passions in their own way, with the support they need and the types of teachers, is what the Southwest Florida Music Education Center is all about,” said Moher.
The curriculum was created by the Berklee Institute for Arts Education and Special Needs and enrollment is now possible for the fall semester 2022. The programmatic elements include essential core subjects, exciting electives, workshops on career orientation, individual and ensemble lessons, master classes as well as performance and internship opportunities.
