The Santa Clarita Valley Special Education Local Plan Area and its member districts actively seek to serve all individuals with exceptional needs between the ages of birth and 22 years of age, including infants and children enrolled in private schools by their parents.

Special education programs are available to all eligible students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment in accordance with the Law on the Education of People with Disabilities, or IDEA.

If you are concerned about your child’s development or have reason to believe that your child needs special education because of a physical, mental, emotional, learning, or language problem, please contact the special education department in your local school district or SCV SELPA Office.
