Pond Safari on the Amboy 4-H Environmental Training Heart | Training
AMBOY – The Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center will present a pond safari on Monday, August 23rd at 9:30 am. Participants in this program will observe and learn the pond environment and its creatures through hands-on activities. Pants and shoes get wet and muddy. Pre-registration is required. The previously planned All About Beavers was postponed to Thursday, August 26th, to 6:30 p.m. due to weather conditions. It starts with a brief indoor presentation about the beavers’ often hidden life, followed by a hike to the pond in the hope of watching the resident beavers tend their hut and gather food for the coming winter. Fully vaccinated individuals are not required to wear a mask that complies with the implementation of the latest CDC guidelines by New York State. However, vaccinated individuals may wear masks (or other acceptable face covering) at their own discretion and maintain social distance. Unvaccinated individuals must wear a mask (or other acceptable face covering) indoors and when two meters of social distancing is not possible outdoors, in accordance with New York State’s implementation of recent CDC guidelines. Participants must continue to sign the Cornell Cooperative Extension Acceptance of Risk and Disclaimer regarding COVID-19 prior to participating in the program.
