Partnership For Kids Presents Triple P – Optimistic Parenting Program
Flexible, effective parenting support for families in Johnston County
Partnership for Children of Johnston County (PFCJC) is now offering Triple P for families in Johnston County, proven in over 150 studies around the world. With practitioners trained at seminar, individual and discussion group level, the program is completely flexible for each participant in terms of scheduling and topics.
Triple P is special because it is not a “one-size-fits-all” course. It offers different levels of support to meet the needs of families based on availability and urgency. PFCJC employees are trained in individual sessions, group discussions and seminar sessions. The one-to-one tuition is completed in four sessions, in which families focus specifically on the behavior of a child they want to learn to deal with. The group discussion is an interactive one-time session with four available topics and can have up to 20 participants. After all, the seminar is a one-time training with three available topics that is usually planned in advance. All three support options are available year-round and are regularly announced on social media.
Triple P is designed to provide parents and caregivers with the skills they need to raise confident, healthy children and build stronger family relationships. Triple P doesn’t tell people how to become parents, it provides families with simple and practical strategies that they can modify to suit their own values, beliefs and needs. The topics can range from learning potty training to dealing with misconduct and dealing with aggression in children. Triple P is based on key strategies that can be used in coping with different parenting situations. Families are paired with a Family Support Specialist to ensure that the strategies are working properly.
