Non-Verbal Teen With Autism Finds His Voice By Artwork

Sebastian Kessler, a 17-year-old teenager with autism, has a daily routine that helps him feel good. But when the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, Kessler was pushed out of his routine.

His mother Ida introduced him to art, which since then has not only given him a new routine, but also his voice. It turns out that Kessler has always had a knack for art and enjoys making candles, paintings, jewelry, clay ornaments, Christmas decorations, and more.

Every day the couple sit together at the table and make Christmas decorations. Kessler, who hardly speaks and has difficulty concentrating for a long time, enjoys the time creating his works of art. His mother is relieved that it is so difficult to find something that Kessler likes and interests.

Kessler began creating so much art that Ida didn’t know what to do with it. She knew his beautiful creations deserved so much more than just lying around the house.

This is where the Unicorn Children’s Foundation comes in. The foundation is a non-profit organization in Boca Raton that helps children with developmental differences.

They recently opened the Uniquely Gifted Boutique, an online space for talented artisans with unique skills across the country to display and sell their work.

In addition to viewing Kessler’s art in her online boutique, you can now buy it too! His work sells out almost every week and is the best seller in the boutiques.

Part of the proceeds will go to the Unicorn Children’s Foundation.

“Whatever your limitations, you can give the world more than you can imagine,” Ida told WPBF.
