Ministry wraps up session on particular schooling wants plan
The Minister of Education held his last consultation session yesterday on a proposed Strategic Action Plan on Special Educational Needs / Disabilities (SEND).
According to a statement from the ministry, planning for the action plan started in May at the behest of Minister Priya Manickchand, who “saw the need to improve the SEND service in the education sector”.
Education Department Chief Planning Officer Nicola Johnson stated during the consultation that at the Minister’s request, a working committee with SEN experts, lawyers and a representative from UNICEF has been set up to ensure the process is data driven and inclusive.
