Meghan Markle and Prince Harry gave their child lady such a lovely, distinctive title
The couple paid tribute to two members of the royal family, but one of the names definitely came as a surprise.
And then there were four! Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed their baby last week and made two-year-old Archie a big brother. The couple gave their newcomer the cutest name: Lilibet Diana.
While it’s a lovely nickname, it also pays tribute to two members of Prince Harry’s family: the Queen, whose childhood nickname was Lilibet, and his late mother Princess Diana. We’re not surprised at the latter, which is also one of Princess Charlotte’s middle names, but Lilibet was a fun surprise. It also pays homage to Harry’s grandfather, Prince Philip, who passed away this year and named his wife Lilibet.
And we are absolutely thrilled. The name is unique and yet honoring Her Majesty, and the nickname they call Lili is so beautiful Name worthy of spring for a June baby. Harry already showed interest in the name Lily during a trip with Meghan in 2019 when she was pregnant with Archie. A little girl told him her name was Lily and he asked how it would be spelled. Who knew

On Sunday the new parents of two announced in an official statement that “Mother and child are healthy and well and are settling in at home. Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty the Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet. Her middle name Diana was chosen to honor her beloved late grandmother, the Princess of Wales.
Their little girl weighed 7 pounds 11 ounces and arrived at 11:40 a.m. at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, California, where the family has lived since last summer.
June is doubly exciting for Meghan, who gave birth to two babies this month: little Lilibet and her first children’s book. The Bankthat hits the bookshelves just in time for Father’s Day. It examines the relationships between a diverse group of sons and fathers. While getting to know her little girl and their special bond, she may be doing research for a second book about mothers and daughters.
