In 2020, the CEA may be entitled to elect up to 30 state delegates to the NEA RA. Here are the descriptions of the open positions:
Category 1 At-Large / State Delegate: 15 positions (duration: 2 years)
Category 1 Large / Ethnic Minorities: Four Positions (Duration: 2
Years)
In these categories, active class teachers (membership type AC-1) or NEA Life members (membership type AC-7) in local member organizations must be eligible for these positions.
Prospective educators: one position (time limit: 1 year)
Only aspiring educators with SEA and NEA membership are suitable for this position.
Membership units: nine positions from specific membership units (term: one year)
Only active members (membership type AC-1) or NEA Life members (membership type AC-7) teaching in a local CEA membership in one of the seventeen member units can be nominated for these positions. The nine open units include E, F, H, J, K, L, M, P & Q.

Category 2 At-Large: One position (Temporary interim position open this year)
Nominees for the Category 2 At-Large position must be active members (membership type AC-1) in managerial / administrator positions or NEA Life members (membership type AC-7) who no longer teach – but only if they do not also NEA. are – retired members. (NEA Life membership is a special category that ended in 1973.) Members with active memberships who have not withdrawn from teaching are eligible for Category 2. Retired NEA Members for Life (Membership Type RT-7) or Annual Retired Members (Member Type.) RT-8) ARE NOT ALLOWED FOR CATEGORY 2
