The two-day international conference of academic institutions starting January 5th will bring global academics together on a single platform to discuss how synergies between industry and academia can transform education; Australia, Great Britain, France, Canada and Norway become partner countries
Gujarat is poised to become a national educational center where many international institutions express their interest in showing their presence in the state. No wonder that the International Conference of Academic Institutions (ICAI), a two-day event leading up to the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, is generating as much interest as the main event.
The ICAI will take place in Science City starting January 5th to bring together academics from around the world to reflect on post-Covid education levels and New Education Policies aimed at transforming school and higher education in India .
National and international experts will be advised on various methods and instruments for the implementation of the NEP-2020 and will carry out a brainstorming session by creating synergies between industry and science. The event will also create a strong link between national and international educational institutions.
Even amid the fear of Omicron, 18 international speakers agreed to be in Science City to share their knowledge and expertise. Cabinet Education Minister Jitu Vaghani said the ICAI will join Australia, Canada, Norway, the UK and France as partner countries.
Up to 120 speakers, including 40 from overseas, will be attended by students from 21 Indian states and overseas students from 65 countries who have come to Gujarat to undertake higher education, said SJ Haider of ACS Education.
The British Council, Australia-India Business Exchange, International Institute of Education, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) and others will attend the conference as international partners, he added.
Vaghani said, “Sessions at the conference will discuss schooling after Covid, multidisciplinary and holistic education, internationalization of education, skills enhancement, entrepreneurship and employability – necessary skills for 21st NEP-2020 will be discussed. A session on Sanskrit – an ancient and yet modern language will be part of the two-day event in addition to a session on the Indian knowledge system. “
Recognized academics such as Prof. Kannan Moudgalya (IIT-Bombay), Prof. Errol D’Souza (Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad), Dr. Indumati Rao (CBR Network of the University of Bangalore), Jan Ebben (National Skill Development Corporation), Dr. KS Dasgupta (Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology), Ranjan Bose (Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Noida), Prof. SK Jain (IIT-Gandhinagar), Prof. S. Sundar Manoharan (Pandit Deendayal Energy University) and Dr. Chandan Chatterjee (Ex-Director, Government) of Gujarat, Skill Development) will speak at the event.

Interactive sessions on India’s Roadmap for Inclusive Education, Quality Assurance in Assessment and Accreditation, Global Ranking, Research and Innovation, among others, will mark the first day of the program.
Part of the event is a living exhibition in which various institutions present their strengths and contributions in the field of education and qualification. It will provide a platform for higher and technical educational institutions to network and develop mutually beneficial relationships.
