Governor Abbott Appoints Combest to Texas Fee on Particular Schooling Funding | Workplace of the Texas Governor

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Stacey Neal (Mayfield) Combest to serve on the Texas Commission on Special Education Funding for a term at the Governor’s discretion. The Commission examines, discusses and addresses specific policy issues and makes recommendations to address issues related to funding for special schools.

Stacey Neal (Mayfield) Combest of Huntsville is an ADR certified mediator and a member of the Texas Association of Mediators. She is the parent and guardian of a son with severe IDD. She is the legislative director of the Denton State Supported Living Center Family Association, a member of the Legislative Committee of Parents and Allies for Remarkable Texans, and a past president of Texans for State Supported Living Centers. She is a Texas attorney for Voice of Reason who previously served on the Long Term Care Subcommittee that reports to the Committee on Children with Special Needs (SB 643) and she continues to train our state lawmakers to successfully pass laws for the disabled. Stacey earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Houston and a doctorate in law from the Dallas College of Law, University of North Texas.
