Couple Creates Their Personal Halloween Haunted Home For Son With Autism
It’s no secret that kids and young teenagers love Halloween and everything that goes with it – trick or treating, haunted houses, candy, and costumes. But for those on the autism spectrum, it can all be overwhelming.
A couple in Virginia wanted to do something for their son Gabriel Gonzalez, who is on the autism spectrum, so that he could still live Halloween.

After getting their creative juices flowing, the Koolings decided to bring Halloween into their own backyard. What started with a few decorations for her son turned into a spooky haunted house for the entire community to enjoy.
Gonzalez’s mother told him that he could help her hand out candy and that she wanted to make it a scary experience for trick or treating. Your yard is now a maze of tombstones, cobwebs, cauldrons, skeletons, coffins, and more.

Gonzalez went from feeling stressed and angry to feeling excited about the vacation. Others like him can now enjoy this scary experience without having to worry about real haunted houses.
The Koolings loved their idea so much that they say this is the first of many for their haunted house. They plan to keep this tradition alive every Halloween, even if Gonzalez feels like he is too old to celebrate the holiday.
