ABQ Training Group to sponsor Al Mouj Muscat Marathon
Muscat: ABQ Education Group has confirmed a strategic partnership with Sabco Sports to sponsor the children’s 1km, 2km and 3km races in the upcoming edition of the Al Mouj Muscat Marathon, which will be held on the weekend of February 11-12, 2022, the most popular event on the national sports calendar and Oman’s biggest race, the Al Mouj Muscat Marathon, aims to inspire and encourage all participants, especially children, to adopt healthy lifestyles.
“We are excited to extend our partnership with the Al Mouj Muscat Marathon for another year as it enables us to promote healthy choices while promoting vitality and celebrating the spirit of the city,” said Humayun Kabir, Chief Executive Officer of the ABQ Education Group. “We believe that physical health is just as important as mental health and we want to inspire the community to live healthy lives and pursue active lifestyles, starting at a young age with students.”

The children’s races, one of the most popular features of the Al Mouj Muscat Marathon, have always attracted large numbers of youngsters, with many participants traveling from across the country to take part. In addition to the excitement of running, the kids enjoy the fun and happy atmosphere that the Al Mouj Muscat Marathon brings and experience the same thrill as the runners in the adult races on race day, including receiving an event t-shirt and a medal .
A total of 4,000 young runners are expected to take part in the three short-distance races. As part of the ABQ Education Group’s initiative to teach healthy habits to children from an early age, the organization will donate 300 children’s racing tickets to students in state schools. The organizers of the Al Mouj Muscat Marathon, Sabco Sports, are promoting inclusion and are working with the Ministry of Education and the Omani School Sports Association to give children with special needs the opportunity to take part again this year.
